  • Final Essay
  • In the 1930's there was a huge unemployment rate. Millions of people were without jobs. The economy was also very poor at this time. This provide an opportunity for the Nazis because people were tired of having no jobs and being poor. They would elect almost anyone if they would promis jobs and a better economy. The Nazis took advantage of that.
  • The burning of the reichstag allowed Hitler to make the communists and socialists look bad because he put the blame on them. The Nazis promised jobs and that they would turn Germany around. Propaganda also helped the Nazis because it made the others look bad. They were able to show that the weimar republic was incapable for looking after the interests of its people. He said that the Nazis were the only way Germany could survive. Things were so bad at the time in Germany people started to follow and they finally elected him.
  • The Germans didnt rise against Hitler because they were afraid of him. He was the most powerful man in the country at the time.
